Rose water toner

Rose as an herb is, soothing, anti-inflammatory, and astringent…the perfect recipe for those suffering from blemishes and irritation. Apply to blemished areas for a calming effect that helps balance the skin’s PH. The best method to apply rose water is to spray it on the skin directly. Rose water properties benefit sensitive, irritated, dry, and even oily skin complexions by controlling sebum production, reducing inflammation, and allowing the outer skin barrier to heal and repair itself. Rose water even tightens the pores making them appear smaller. It also helps lighten hyperpigmentation over time.

Boil your roses

Find a beautiful fresh bouquet of roses at your local market, and tear the petals off of the stem. Bring two cups of distilled or filtered water to a boil, and then add petals. Boil for 8-10 minutes stirring occasionally, then take off of the burner. Allow the petals to steep for about any hour. Strain the petals and save the water.

Spray

Find a glass spray jar at your local apothecary or craft store, and add in your toner. This toner will eventually spoil so I store mine in the freezer in 1/2 cup mason jars. Use this toner in the morning and at night, after cleansing.
